A Love Like No Other

From time to time, I come across old cards and letters. Some I find tucked away in a drawer. Others left within the pages of a favorite book after being used as a bookmark. Some from family and friends. Others from my husband.

All are sweet reminders of the blessings that come from endearing relationships. Gifts from God that are tucked away within the pages of our lives.

My daughter kept a simple note from her dad the day she started driving. It has become one of her most treasured keepsakes over the years. One of mine is a note my husband stuck in my suitcase the first time after being married that we spent time apart  when I went on a school trip with my daughter.

As incredible as the earthly love we experience, there is an even more remarkable love. A love that hangs over us like a banner and never fails to bring us to a place of honor and worth.

Songs of Solomon 2:4 (ESV) speaks of this kind of love this way, “He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was love. He invites us to His table, where we will eat and drink to the full—honored and treasured and treated like family.

We all will go through hard things that will make us feel less than loved at one point in our lives. Sometimes, we may question God’s goodness and even doubt his love for us. These are times when we must choose to trust in the truth of God’s word and His great redeeming love.

And we all will have days when it is just good to remember.

Days just like today…

God’s great love has been forever displayed throughout the pages of scripture.

From Genesis to Revelation, we witness the most incredible love there has ever been. John 15:13 reminds us of such devotion. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

God gives us the beauty of His love.

Our Heavenly Father’s love knows no boundaries. Knows no depths. Has no beginning or end, for it has simply always been.

Love never stops reaching for us due to our weaknesses or shortcomings. It never falls short or lets us down.

God’s love will never be something that we can ever earn or be good enough to receive. But, it is waiting to be given.

Love is tested and true. It is a solid place to stand and a safe place to fall.

Love walks us through fire and stands at our sides to protect us through rain and flood.

Love rescues us and makes the way through dark valleys and across the stormy waves. It speaks peace be still to us when we feel troubled and afraid.

Love rebuilds our broken places and mends our broken hearts.

Love restores what seems beyond repair. Redeems when all seems lost.

Love sits with us when we are clothed but with ashes like Job and shows up when all others have turned against us or turned us away.

Love makes our way through mountains and carries us through dark valleys.

Love lights our paths through the darkness and covers us with feathers when we are in danger.

Love holds us when we are sad and yet gives us a gentle push when we need help to get moving again. It also gives you that gentle push to move you out of your comfort zone.

Love corrects us in measure but never leaves us in despair.

Love supports us forever, lifts us, giving us wings to fly.

Love often comes wrapped in grace, and is promised for every single thing.

There will be things I may never understand in this world, but this is one thing I can be sure of.

God loves us like no one ever can and ever will, and what an incredible love that is.

I am a country girl from a small town nestled in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. I love discovering something new in God's word, sipping on my favorite coffee and enjoying the simple things in life. And I love to write about all the everyday stuff in between. My hope is that the things I share on my page will encourage and inspire you to find God's purpose for your own everyday journey.
