An Evening Prayer of Thanksgiving
So much of the time my prayers turn into requests. Every now and then, it is good to just come to my heavenly Father to just thank Him for His goodness toward me. Come to say an evening prayer of thanksgiving without wanting to ask Him for anything in return. You are welcome to come along beside me while I pray. I’m sure you have things to thank Him for as well.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to you thanking You for all You have done. Your mercies and faithfulness have been great concerning me.
I enter your gates with thanksgiving and your courts with praise. You are worthy. Glory be Your Name above all Names.
I have found the One my soul does long for. My heart can rejoice and be glad. My search is over to find the one who will satisfy my soul, for I have found Jesus. I need not look for another.
All earthly love dims in comparison to the love bestowed upon me by the lover of my soul.
You redeemed my life and gave me purpose.
You restore my soul.
I need not worry that my feet will slip. You enable me to walk in my high places like the mountain goat walks upon the mountainside.
You give me mercies anew every morning. You fill my life with incredible hope.
Though all around me may crumble, my heart can rest safely in You. For you will not suffer me to be moved. I am forever in your sight,,,, and the sound of even my breathing lies upon your ears.
You even know the innermost longings of my heart and my thoughts from afar.
You know when I lay down and when I get up. You watch over me to do me good.
You look upon me with compassion helping me when I can not help myself.
You are the lifter of my head when I walk through dark and dangerous valleys and the lifter of my soul to higher heights making my heart glad. You give me a new song and make my heart to sing and rejoice.
You have prepared the way before me so that I need not fear the future. You have redeemed my past to good to tell the redeemed story. I never have to look back with shame and regret.
You bestow honor upon me and call me beloved and and call me daughter. I have reason in that alone to be forever thankful.
I will never have a need that you can’t supply. You will be my present help in time of trouble. I have no readon to fear. You are the friend that sticks closer than a brother. I never have to fear being alone.
You will fight for me in battle so that I need not fear defeat.
You will walk with me through flame and flood and be near me in deep waters. I can look forward to the days ahead with joy and anticipation. For you have tole me that I shall laugh at the future. Better days are ahead.
I will wait on you, Lord, because you will be kind unto me. And my ending will be better than my beginning. For you do only good concerning me.
My random was paid. I am forever free.
You washed me clean from the stains of sin and shame so I can sing the song of the Redeemed.
I thank you for my family, friends and those who read my words on this page. Bless each one. I pray you draw them close and give them peace. Make your face shine upon them.
Thank you for your goodness toward me and for listening to my eveing prayer of thankfulness.
Always in Jesus holy name. Amen.
Your Daughter,
Susan
