    Living More Authentic Lives

Do you ever wonder if you are the only one who struggles when life is hard? Do you look around and wonder if other people are screaming inside to lay down the mask of perfection and live more authentic lives just like you?  Lately, I have felt a need for a pause. Grief and some unexpected adversities facing my family started to take a toll on this girl’s heart. It left me battling to press through fear of the unknowns and discouragement and make time to sit undistracted at my Master’s feet.  I have been struggling, Y’All. Sometimes, life is hard, or at least on my side of the wilderness.…

    Chosen for the Best

As a girl who often battles comparison, I have often felt drawn to the verses in Acts 1:22-26. In this passage, we read of two men who have both faithfully served God and walked with Jesus during his earthly ministry. These two men are each considered to take Judas’ place as the twelfth disciple. I am sure the suspense built as the eleven apostles gathered to cast lots to see who God would select for this special place of service. Lessons Learned from Rope and a Fence

Key Verse: “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.” Matthew 21:2 (ESV) I sat with tears in my eyes at trying to reason how did I get here again? I thought I had finally won the dreaded battle with comparison.  Unfortunately, I fell for it again.  Her calling looks carefree and glamorous while my calling requires lots of hard work. Her assignment looks fun and exciting. Mine is painful and anything but fun. It looks like she got the high heels while I got the muddy work boots yet…

    Don’t Play the Comparison Game…Again

Do you ever compare yourself to others playing the comparison game?  Then let’s talk…   I love sweet juicy blueberries. I put them in smoothies, in my oatmeal, and even love a delicious blueberry cobbler every now and then. I recently learned something new about blueberries.  You can’t tell how sweet blueberry is going to taste by its size? No joke.  I would have assumed that the big plumb blueberries would be super sweet. I was so convinced I bought two containers. After all, they spent more time soaking up all that sunshine and drinking in all that refreshing rain. Right?  Wrong!  Bigger does not mean juicer or sweeter.  Bigger…
